If You Give a Girl a Motorcycle: Author Introduction

Hello! My name is Katt and I am a female motorcycle rider. Now that introductions are out of the way: Welcome. If you are reading this post, then you must know about my upcoming children's book: If You Give A Girl A Motorcycle. A book (series) that follows a little girl named Kamy and her cat Salem, on their motorcycle riding adventures. In the first book, we follow our female lead as she learns her way around a motorcycle, before taking off to meet some really interesting friends.

As the daughter of a mechanic, I grew up with a love for all things fast. The more horsepower, the better! But, I was taken aback over the amount of motorcycle and automotive books geared toward young boys and not girls. Girls are a big part of the automotive industry (even as riders) and should have proper representation, even at a young age. As an adult female motorcycle rider, representation matters, and young girls need to be represented too, and it is only fair that I rewrite the script and show our younger generations what it means to be a woman and ride her own.
